Juggling in Underwear for a Cause

World Malaria Day is coming up on Thursday, and to help promote awareness MLS alumnus Jared Montz has been juggling across the country in his Soccer Walking Tour.
On the Los Angeles leg of the tour, Jared takes his juggling to a different level by juggling around the city in a pair of boxer briefs from Ellen Degeneres’ eponymous talk show. From Dodger Stadium to rooftops to the Hollywood Walk of Fame Jared shows off his juggling skills in addition to plenty of skin.
This is all leading up to his Online Soccer Academy’s Juggle-A-Thon on April 25, to help raise money for Nothing but Nets, who provides mosquito nets and instruction on their use in parts of the world where malaria is prevalent. Ally Jay DeMerit and out player Lori Lindsey are both participants, among others, so please give to help the cause! Just ten dollars provides a mosquito net to someone who needs one.
David Beckham’s Spring 2013 H&M Ad

It may not have aired during the Super Bowl this year, but the second annual David Beckham H&M underwear ad is certainly something to behold.
We’ve all seen “locked out of the house wearing only underwear” gags before; but under the direction of the former Mr. Madonna (Guy Ritchie), this commercial has plenty of wit, soccer skills, and David Beckham butt shots. Including after he makes a swim across a pool as part of his chase.
And keep an eye out for the good old David Beckham #23 LA Galaxy jersey.

Stand Up Foundation Launches Underwear Line

WARNING: Non-soccer content ahead.
But you can’t help but admire Ben Cohen, an English rugby player and World Cup medal-holder who has made his post-playing career all about standing up to bullying and for LGBT rights with his Stand Up Foundation.
This week the Foundation began taking pre-orders of a new underwear line, with proceeds benefiting the organization and ads featuring its founder modeling all of the available styles.
Ben is touring the USA right now for Pride season, so you can keep up with where he’s at and what events you can join him at via his Facebook and Twitter.

Thursday Happy Hour: The 2012 Olympics Soccer Ball is the Worst Looking Thing Since the Last Thing With the 2012 Olympics Logo

Clearly, this is the inspiration for the Olympic soccer ball color palette.
Never mind the London 2012 logo, which is atrocious all by itself. Did they have to make the official soccer match ball neon blue, yellow, and pink? Or as the Sounders would call them, super cyan, electric yellow, and um, bubble gum pink. Seriously, this looks like the kind of soccer ball that would come with one of my sister’s Barbies in the 80s. The only upshot of this thing is it’s so ugly it’s going to make players want to kick it even harder.
In other soccer style news, the USA premiered their new away kits during yesterday’s victory over Italy. What do you think?
Thursday Happy Hour: I’ve Never Wanted a Diet Soda So Much Before

First up, the Vancouver Whitecaps show a great sense of humo(u)r with this photograph they Tweeted as a response to advertisements featuring a rival in his skivvies popping up in their city. But really, it’s the kind of funny you would expect from Canadians.
We love when MLS teams go retro (as with Portland’s third kit this season), and MLSSoccer.com gives us a look at the San Jose Earthquakes’ season tickets for 2012, featuring photographs of Quakes teams from different eras going back to the NASL days of the 1970′s.
KCKRS introduces us to buckminsterfullerene, outer space molecules whose shape looks an awful like the truncated icosahedron of the Adidas Telstar soccer ball made famous by the World Cups of the seventies.
Finally, four members of the USA squad just called up today to face Italy next week participated in a photo shoot for Pepsi Max, and they posted the behind the scenes video today. Gorgeousness abounds.
