Major League Soccer to be Part of NBC Sports Live Extra App

Major League Soccer will be one of many sports properties whose events will appear live on the new NBC Sports Live Extra App.

If you already have the NBC Olympics Live Extra App, updates will switch it automatically switch to the overall NBC Sports App starting today.

The info released so far did not say if the app would cover national team games that air on NBC or NBC Sports Network.

Ally Chris Wondolowski Stars in Premiere of NBC Sports’ “MLS 36″

Stay tuned Sunday after NBC Sports Network’s broadcast of Dallas vs. Portland for the premiere of their latest behind the scenes show MLS 36.

The latest in the “36″ series of shows, the program follows a player for the 36 hours prior to a critical performance. Indy Car and NHL have been previously featured in the series.

The MLS 36 series kicks off with San Jose Earthquakes forward Chris Wondolowski in the run up to July’s MLS All Star Game victory over Chelsea FC:

Wednesday Happy Hour: Hump Day Video Extravaganza

You can tell the season is getting closer and closer when there are more and more great videos out there to enjoy.

If you can’t wait for the regular season for soccer on the MLS site, their streaming of preseason games begins tonight!

gay4soccer MLS Schedule Mini-Roundtable

The MLS Schedule was released yesterday, setting Twitter into its usual flurry of comments surrounding the many changes featured. It’s the premiere of the Montreal Impact, who will get their season started against cross-country rivals the Vancouver Whitecaps. It’s the longest MLS schedule ever, with the MLS Cup Championship game pegged for Saturday, December 1. It’s a return to an unbalanced schedule, creating some interesting rivalry match-ups that seem ready-made to be featured as part of MLS’ return to broadcast television as part of the new deal with NBC Sports.
