Major League Soccer: Don’t Cross the Line 2013

Major League Soccer and MLS Works have released the 2013 edition of their “Don’t Cross the Line” PSA campaign with some of the league’s biggest stars participating.

Check it out:

As with the edition made as part of All Star Week last year, the ad calls for welcoming of people in soccer regardless of age, race, gender, sexuality, and or ability. It was filmed as part of preseason media week in New York City, and has some of the biggest names in the North American game featured:

  • Dan Kennedy, Chivas USA
  • Eddie Johnson, Seattle Sounders
  • Jay DeMerit, Vancouver Whitecaps
  • Kyle Beckerman, Real Salt Lake
  • Thierry Henry, New York Red Bulls
  • Brad Davis, Houston Dynamo
  • Graham Zusi, Sporting Kansas City
  • Dwayne De Rosario, DC United
  • Chris Wondolowski, San Jose Earthquakes
  • Robbie Keane, Los Angeles Galaxy
Now the question for me is how widely this will be distributed. It’s already part on the digital media platforms of MLS and MLS Works but hopefully it will be spread around even more than it was last year. Halftime of a big “Rivalry Week” game broadcast on NBC perhaps? And it would be great to see Major League Soccer mandate that this be played in every stadium as part of every game this year. Let us know where you’re seeing it.
